I'm delighted to be associated with Hennie Liebenberg.
Hennie hails from South Africa, where he qualified as a patent agent. He is passionate about all things IP, but particularly about proper IP Management. In this, Hennie and I find much common ground.
The registration of IP is not something that should take place in a vacuum. Whether it be filing a patent application or an application to register a trade mark, to do so without a clear understanding of how such a right plays a role in your overall strategy could be a waste of time and money.
Hennie's talent lies in putting IP registration into context. That starts with a clear understanding of what you are trying to achieve so that the IP registration can move you in that direction and help you to achieve that rare competitive edge.
Hennie is also a strong club chess player. While probably being too modest to admit it, his aptitude for that challenging sport is reflected in his ability to develop effective IP strategies. In particular, Hennie has a knack for identifying potential problems and addressing them at an early stage.
